He was ailing for sometime with various problems and recently underwent a surgery. He was also a diabetic. Though weak, he was constantly working till the end. After his tenure at the Arulanandar College at Karumathur, Madurai he was on sabatical for a year.

On 31st March this year, M. J. Ruben and Glynis Joseph from CCI met him at the Sacred Heart Seminary,
Poonamallee near Chennai along with Fr. Thomas Joseph. RV welcomed CCI to Trichy and offered his services particularly in training the animators. Ruben requested him to write down his testimony.

He was the Spiritual Father at St. Paul's Seminary, Tiruchirapalli for the past few months till his death.

RV was born on 11th November 1938.

In his death, we have lost yet another follower of Cardijn.

  2. I was deeply sad when Ruben told me RV passed away this morning. Have not seen Rv in many years ( and longed too ) , so I wept!! Yes, RV was much loved
and he was very charismatic. He loved to sing and his Masses were very, very
meaningful - one felt the presence of Our Lord! RV we miss you .. I wanted you to meet my children and the family this side...as you helped to bring Dan and myself together in a LIFE COMMITMENT. THANK YOU. May God grant you eternal rest. Maryanne

  5. With the passing away of RV an important chapter of the ycw in India has closed...and maybe we will never ever get another RV with those sterling qualities of head and heart with a burning passion for Cardijn and the human values he stood for.
RV was an apostle of the workers and may God reward him abundantly...RIP

I am from Kailasapuram parish of Trichy Diocese. I know him from my age of 9 years and had link for 44 yers.Often spoke with him through his mobile no 9442449392.Met him on 11-11-11,on his 74th Birth day.He was very eager to meet his old, Kailasapuram friends immediately after X-Mas at my residence at Vignesh Nagar,Kattur,Trichy.Coming 21st December will be his priestly ordination anniversary day.He is completing his 48 years of service to LORD.We were planning to celebrate his Golden Jubilee 0n 21-12-2013. But,Lord's will is something different. He wanted his closeness at Eternal Heaven. The owner wants his own marble. We can't say "NO". We can't Go to court also.
Let us pray on 11th Nov,17th Nov &21st December of Every year.
No one can match with Fr.RV's style of Simple living.
    With deepest sorrow,
