Plight of Hawkers in the Local Trains of Mumbai - Delfi Daffnie

Delfi Daffnie
We reproduce here a research paper by Ms Delfi Daffnie, AICUFer from Mumbai who attended the Y4C Conference in Goa in January 2011 and who is an aspirant CCI. She is an activist involved in research on the specific problems of the neglected and downtrodden.

This paper was presented by her recently at the Young Sociologists event at Christ University, Bangalore and won the third place.

Her research paper on the plight of hawkers in Mumbai suburban trains picturises the actual situation of the hawkers.

CCI-India in its General Assembly concluded in November 2011 has planned to carry out an 'Inquiry Campaign' on the living and working conditions of internal migrant workers.

The research paper by Ms Delfi Daffnie gives us an insight into the living and working conditions of one section of the unorganised workers who are also migrants.
